שְׁמַע Hebrew for hear!

Every word heard. Every verse on screen.

Shema listens to the sermon as it is preached, captions it live, and puts each scripture on the screen the moment it is spoken. Afterwards, the message becomes a summary, a study guide and slides your congregation can keep.

Romans 8:28–29 · KJV

28And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

29For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son…

…and Paul goes straight on: for whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be

The next verse is added as the speaker reads on into it.

How it works

From the pulpit to every screen.

No slides to cue and nothing to type during the service. One laptop listens; every other screen just watches.

01

Start listening

Open the presenter on a laptop near the pulpit and press start. The projector, the stream and the screens in the foyer open the same live room with a link of their own.

02

Scripture appears

References are caught as they are spoken, checked against the text and shown at once. Read on, and the next verse joins; quote a verse with no reference, and it is found anyway.

03

Keep the message

When listening stops, the transcript becomes a summary with key points. Add a study guide and slides, then publish it for your members or for everyone.

Live captions & verses

It hears scripture the way it is preached.

Preachers don't say "John 3:16" in a tidy format. They say "turn with me to John chapter three", pause, and start reading. Shema follows along and keeps the right passage in front of the room.

  • Spoken references, ranges and "verse 18" on its own
  • Reads along verse by verse as the speaker reads on
  • Finds scripture quoted with no reference at all
  • Live captions for anyone who struggles to hear

Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

My notes

Be still = trust, not idleness. Read Ps 46 this week.

Follow along

The passage in every hand.

A QR code in the corner of the screen invites the room to follow along. One scan and the live passage and captions are on a phone, with a notes pad beside them and "Add to notes" for the verse on screen. No app to install.

  • Notes stay on the phone until the person makes an account
  • Signing up joins the congregation and keeps every note
  • Admins can turn following and sign-up on or off

Messages

The sermon keeps teaching all week.

Every time listening runs, the transcript and the passages shown are saved as a message. When it ends, a summary is written. One click more makes a study guide or a slide deck, ready for small groups.

  • Title, speaker, theme and key points, all editable
  • Study guides and slides; PowerPoint, Markdown and print
  • Publish to members only, or to anyone with the link

Who it's for

Built for the whole room.

Pastors & speakers

Preach from your Bible. The screen keeps up without a cue sheet or a signal to the booth.

Media & AV teams

Start listening and step back. No reference to type, no slide to find mid-sentence.

The congregation

Scripture in front of everyone, captions for those who struggle to hear, notes they keep.

Church admins

Members and roles, projector links, the sermon archive and usage, all in one place.

Scripture, never a guess.

Speech recognition mishears, and AI will happily paraphrase a verse it half remembers. Shema uses AI to listen, but the words on the screen come from the Bible itself.

Generic captions

Misheard references. Paraphrased verses. "Acts 29".

Shema

Every reference checked against the text. Every verse word for word from the King James Version.
